Leaving traditional schools to give “off the rails” teens a way out

Tucked away in the leafy suburbs of Chengdu is a special learning community.
There are more than 20 students in the learning community, ranging in age from 15 to 18. Most of them are problematic students within the traditional education system, unable to adapt to life in a regular public school, bored with school, expelled from school, undergoing psychiatric treatment, self-harming and even committing suicide. …… Yet they seem to have “got it all right” after coming to this school.
